Description of service:

Surrey Stroke Recovery Service offers practical support and advice for stroke survivors, carers and their family.

 

How does it work?

When you’re referred to our service our Stroke Association Support Coordinators will work with you to identify your needs, and support you to rebuild your life after stroke.

 

We offer:

• A personalised review of all your needs.

• Someone to talk to who understands.

• Tips and advice to support your recovery.

• Information about stroke and local services.

• Advice on reducing your risk of a further stroke.

• The chance to share experiences with others in a similar situation.

Farnham Assist

Service

We are a Christian charity organisation that has just celebrated our 20th anniversary. We offer support to older people in Farnham who live alone or are carers and may become isolated from friends and neighbours. Activities we provide include weekly activity groups for men and women, outings, monthly roast community lunches, home befriending and special Church services.

The Hunter Centre

Service

The Hunter Centre is a charity established to support those living with dementia in Waverley and surrounding areas.

The day care facility operates from the Marjorie Gray Hall, Grayswood Road, Haslemere, Surrey. Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays. 9.30 am – 3.30pm.

Our aim is to provide care and stimulation for those living with various forms of dementia. Each client is treated as an individual with respect and dignity. Support is given by staff with many years of experience in dementia care in a very relaxed, friendly and secure environment. Activities include Music therapy, Word games and reminiscence sessions. Carers can comfortably leave their loved ones for a few hours for some much-needed respite.
